i know exactly what you mean, i mean i try to study in my house but i end up on the computer or sleeping…but mostly nothing at all. it’s weird. iguess it’s jsut that i’m too comfortable there. good luck

When I went to college, my best studying was done at Denny’s at 1am. Nuttin’ like a booth, an endless cup of coffee, and a cramsession the night before finals…

Now that I’ve got a job in the IT biz, I still study for assorted certs at my local 24-hour diner. It’s just peaceful there.

omgosh i know what you mean about being more productive when you’re out of your room or house. that’s how i feel.. i need to take my ass out of my house and go to the library to actually get some studying done, heh. it’s the same reason as you — there’s no computer so near that can distract me in a library, haha.

I totally agree with you regarding studying at home and lack thereof. At home, I manage to distract myself with anything and everything while the library seems to instill a sense of calm and focus I cannot attain at home. For me, it’s a combo of the peer pressure (everyone else is doing it!) and my competitive nature. Interesting perception.

I, too, was an AOL’er before they had IE bundled in it. I was running AOL 1.0 and remember my first bill of over $300 since there was no such thing as unlimited usage back then. I think the closest thing to unlimited were the package deals offered by Prodigy. My old screen names were IMTerry and dzyhdmzy (daisy head maisy). Funny old school stuffs…

my problem with libraries.. is that.. i only go when people are like .. hey katie.. lets go to the library. and then i’m like.. uh okay.. and i get all my shit together and get there.. with all these books. and i try to study… and i end up just talking to someone about what we’re going to do after we’re "done" studying. i have gone to more parties after being at a library than anywhere else.

i’m better off at home. really, what i need is a sensory deprivation tank that i can crawl in with one book. someone would probably have to lock me in though…

The single thing that vanished my scepticism and pulled me over is very common nowadays; bringing people closer together.

Ofcourse, taken literally, the question is if people really got ‘closer’. But what I mean, is like there has been pulled down a barrier that was always there but never really noticed untill it got smashed…
