“The OC”
and “Laguna Beach”

So, since it’s summer time, I’ve had the chance to catch up with some television (well, that and the fact that I’ve been trying to limit my anime intake a little). Anyhow, I’ve finally been able to sit down and watch episodes of The OC and Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County…. And really, after seeing the shows, I can’t imagine what people outside of the OC must think of people who live in the OC.

Now I’m at an impasse — as idiotic as it sounds, it seems like the lives of these drama-filled people are completely empty. On the other hand, I wouldn’t mind a good massage, or a hot surfer dude once in a while.

Additionally, I find it interesting that all the girls seem to look the same — which, really, should be impossible. So I figure that most of it is make up — and if it’s make up, then I could probably do it if I wanted to… If I lost about 20 lbs and got a tit job.

So here’s my first question to you: If you lived in the OC like me, would you:

A: Not associate with typical OC-ers, but watch them religiously on TV and make fun of them as they come on while being secretly jealous that they have a seemingly unending stream of money.

B: When in Rome, do as the Romans do… and try to BECOME a typical TV-type OC-er (Only asian… But still blonde!)…

or

C: Go GTA-style insane and start taking all the ferrarris and lamborghinis for joyrides while running over OC peeps for points.

My second question:

Are there any weird stereotypes about the place that you live?

I hate rich OC, i stayed in not so rich OC by southcoast plaza with my cousin for a while and the people there werent bad or fake. At any rate, it depends, if i was with rich folk, id tolerate their bullshit to an extent and go along for the free ride, as soon as they crossed the line of dramatic filled ignorance, BAM* smacked. People think that colorado is ghetto, people in colorado think that my area is ghetto, people in other area’s think that my suburb has nothing but black people…people think im black. End.

If I lived in the OC, well I’d probably be loaded and what not, so I figure I’d be the ultimate snob or something sick like that, however I do hope that I would be a good person that treats everyone with respect and has her feet on the ground. Also, the town I live in has a reputation for being extremely snobby. And its really quite trueamber

Well i’m going to Orange County in 8 days for vacation with family and i’m from Philadelphia the MTV real world area.
Can you find me a tour guide to find the best spots to people watch/miggle? please, i’m a Nguyen too!
People in Philadelphia stereotype people from NJ, cause they can’t drive for shit. How much is gas over in Cali? its $3.69 for super here….

if i was in the oc, i’d probably try sleeping with best friend’s mom. and people from SoCal seem to love pointing out that we like to say “hella” a lot as in “that’s hella cool” —> “*snicker*, you said hella haha.” —> “what?”

Shi…..I don’t really know why I said what I said about your blog…Maybe I haven’t read it enough? I was in kind of a shitty mood this morning, and that popped into my head, and I typed it….But I really did not mean to disrespect you at all…consider it removed.
Secondly….my girl Esther’s comment was great. She was taking heat personally, well not directly, for comments that I had received and had read all over that ooohhhpeter’s xanga. It was very disheartening for me to keep reading over and over again about how much of a ‘fag’ I was, and for her to “shed some light” on it…well, it helped me understand a little bit.
Again, Shi, I meant no disrespect, and I definitely was not hating…I am trying to keep the hate off my page, and I have no reason at all to hate on you. You are gorgeous…see, I do have positive things to share :)

hmm haven’t really watched those shows but i do miss living around irvine.  it’s very bourgeois but hey it’s clean and people do look very good in general.  it being a college town, you see a lot of young energetic people around, which is a lot better than where i live now:
stereotypes of monterey park and san gabriel valley: great chinese restaurants, weird ugly fobby old chinese people, dirty and ghetto but nice cars.
true, all true.

the stereotype around the area is that it’s ghetto. the community and the towns are overall nice, but the stereotype is perpetuated by the high school, thanks to all the students transferring in from richmond.

common misnomers about texas (dallas) is that everyone wears a cowboy hat and rides a horse and live on ranches, when in fact, everyone has fake boobs, live in mansions and their kids drive M3s, H2s, Benz’s to school (texas’ version of the oc).

” I hate rich OC, i stayed in not so rich OC by southcoast plaza with my cousin for a while and the people there werent bad or fake. ”
LOL. YES THEY ARE. Where have they been? ._. I live like 10 minutes away from south coast plaza.
I’m not A, B, or C. I envy rich kids, but I dont religiously watch that show. I haven’t even seen a full 10 minutes of it. I watched it for those 10 minutes cause I thought maybe Mischa Barton’s beauty would suck me in. It didn’t.
The OC sucks. Probably the show too, but I wouldn’t know. All the Asians are afraid of being FOBs so they try to dress nicely so they won’t be known as the fashion-don’t. Too bad some of them still are. And the funny part is how much fucking time/money they spend on shopping. Puh-lease. Just buy tank-tops. You can’t go wrong with those. And they’re comfy too. =)
Anyway, I moved from Texas and it’s WAYYYY better than California. Yeh, we have malls and schools and grocery stores and actual streets made for driving. Fucking stereotypers. People ask me if I know what Starbucks is. Texas people are more down-to-earth too. Or where I was.
I must admit the California weather and the beach rock though. But the houses are like 4x expensive as the ones in Texas, it’s ridiculous. >

Hmm, I live in Diamond Bar, which is right on the border of LA, OC, and SB counties (literally), so I’ve got my pick as to what style I’d like to emulate. I usually go with the OC though, because they have the beach, and Disneyland. Go Disneyland!
Anyways, I could also go with the “OC” version of Chino, and leave mattresses on my front yard. Because, you know, that really happens.
On another note, Newport isn’t THAT rich. At least not the way they portray it on TV.

$6 dollars in to $15,000+ in 30 days? Believe It!
“$6 dollars in to $15,000+ in 30 days. Yeah right that’s BS? Or Seriously?”
After reading this you will be posed with a question, “Should I?”…so many honest folks blow more cash on lottery tickets and get rich schemes…it is without a doubt, as described to me, simply an archaic means of sharing and wealth distribution…I have yet to earn the full 15k+ plus but without a doubt after my second week the money has begun to come in…Read on and you judge for yourself…When I 1st came across a similar post I thought, “Yeah right, this @#$% don’t work. Must be, yet, another pyramid scam”, but like most of us I was curious so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you send only $1.00 to each of the 6 email addresses stated in this article. Then email them to have your name added to a mailing list.
You then place your name and address at the bottom of the list at the #6th position and email it to your friends as well as post this message (with your email address in the list) to at least 200 newsgroups. (There are thousands) No catch! That was it. So after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first, I thought about trying it.I figured “what have I got to lose except $6.00, right?” So I invested the measly $6.00. Well GUESS WHAT!! Within days, I started getting money coming into my Pay Pal account! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in.
In my first week, I made about $25.00 which means that 25 people joined the group after they saw my posted messages.By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $1000.00! In the third week I had over $10,000.00 and it’s still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it’s still coming in rapidly. It’s certainly worth $6.00, andthe few minutes it took to join Paypal.
PAYPAL VERIFIES THAT THIS $6 INVESTMENT IS 100% LEGAL AND IS A BIGHIT THIS YEAR SEE THEIR NOTE BELOW OR ASK THEM DIRECTLY… THISMIGHT TAKE 15-30 MINUTES AND JUST $6, BUT IT IS 100% WORTH IT TO MAKETHOUSANDS SO QUICKLY. THIS IS NOT ANOTHER SCAM THATTAKES LOTS OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY; THIS IS A NO RISK INVESTMENTTHAT WILL MAKE YOU THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS VERY EASILY AND QUICKLY.
From Pay Pal:
“Dear Member, it has come to our attention that thereis a paypal scheme floating around at the moment youmay have heard or seen the $6 scheme. You may haveeven taken part in it well we have been asked a lot ofquestions about this scheme the answer is yes it doeswork and yes it is safe to use providing you follow therules it is legal and has made a big hit on the internetthis year. If you would like to take part in this schemeor would like a bit more information then please see theattached file that was kindly donated to us. Thank you forusing Pay Pal!”
TURN $6 INTO $15,000 IN ONLY 30 DAYS…HERES HOW!
You have most likely seen or heard about this projecton TV programs such as 20/20 and Oprah, or you mayhave read about it in the Wall Street Journal. If not, here it is below – revealed to you in step-by-stepdetail. This program is by no means new. It has beenin existence in many forms for at least a decade. Butin the early days, it required a lot more time andeffort, as well as an investment of a few hundreddollars. However, thanks to Pay Pal and the Internet, the investment is now virtually ZERO! And what’s more, the entire process is FASTER, EASIER, and MORELUCRATIVE than it has EVER been! Below is the emailsent to me:
How to Turn $6 into $15,000 in 30 Days with Pay PalI WAS SHOCKED WHEN I SAW HOW MUCH MONEY CAME FLOODING INTO MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT I turned $6 into $14,706 within the first 30 days of operating thebusiness plan that I am about to reveal to you free of charge. If you decide to take action on the following instructions, I will GUARANTEE that you will enjoy a similar return! STILL NEED PROOF? Here are just 3 testimonials from the countless individuals who decided to invest nothing more than $6 and half an hour of their time to participate in this program:
“What an amazing plan! I followed your instructionsjust 3 weeks ago, and although I haven’t made 15 grandyet, I’m already up to $9,135. I’m absolutely gobsmacked.” -Pam Whittemore , Ohio
“Well, what can I say?… THANK YOU SO MUCH! I sent 40e-mail’s out like you said and then I just forgot about the wholething. To be honest, I didn’t really think anything would come of it.But when I checked my pay pal account a week later, there was over$5,000 in it! After 30 days I now have over $11,000 to spend! I can’tthank you enough!”-Juan Tovar, NY,NY
“I was shocked when I saw how much money cameflooding into my pay pal account. Within 3 weeks myaccount balance has ballooned to $12,449. At first Ithought there had been some sort of error with myaccount!” -Richard Barrie , Boulder, CO
The only things you will need are: An email address. A Business Pay Pal account with at least $6 deposited in it, and just 15 to 30 minutes of your time. Thisprogram takes just half an hour to set up. After that, there is absolutely no work whatsoever to do on your part. You have absolutely NOTHING to lose, and there is NO LIMIT to the amount of income you can generate from this one single business program.
Let’s get started, just follow the instructions exactly as set out below and then prepare yourself for a HUGE influx of cash over the next 30 days! Here’s what you need to do. . .
REQUIREMENTS
#1) an email address#2) a Premier or Business Pay Pal account
STEP #1 – Setting up your FREE Pay Pal Account
It’s extremely safe and very easy to set up a FREEPay Pal account! Copy and paste this to the address barhttps://www.paypal.com (notice the secure “https” within the link)
Be sure to sign up for a free PREMIER or BUSINESS account (and not just a PERSONAL account) otherwise you won’t be able to receive credit card payments from other people.
STEP #2 – Sending PayPal money “It is an undeniable law of the universe that we must first give in order to receive.” Now all you have to do is send $1.00 by way of PayPal to each of the six email addresses listed below. Make sure the subject of the payment says… *PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR EMAIL LIST* (this keeps the program 100% legal…so please don’t forget!)
Note: (If you do not see the full email address for the 6 members, just hit reply To this email and they will show up.)
(Just in case you still haven’t opened your PayPal account yet, use this link to open one in your name), https://www.paypal.com
1.) jenkins_et@hotmail.com
2.) business_ceo77@yahoo.com
3.) racia26@yahoo.com4.) corey_grayson@hotmail.com5.) butters441@hotmail.com6.) orewakawaii@aol.com
Remember, all of this is ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! You are creating a service!
If you have any doubts, please refer to #####le 18 Sec.1302 & 1241 of the United States Postal laws.
STEP #3 – Adding Your Email Address
After you send your six $1.00 payments, it’s your turn to add your email address to the list! Take the #1) email off the list that you see above, move the other addresses up one (6 becomes 5 & 5 becomes 4, etc) then put YOUR email address (the one used in your PayPal account) as #6) on the list.
**MAKE SURE THE EMAIL YOU SUPPLY IS EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS IN YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT.**
STEP #4 – The Pure Joy of Receiving PayPal Money!
You are now ready to post your copy of this message, to at least 200 newsgroups, message boards, etc. (I think there are close to 32,000 groups) All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you make – as well as everyone else on the list! In this situation your job is to let as many people see this letter as possible. So they will make you and me rich!!!! You can even start posting the moment your email is confirmed. Payments will still appear in your PayPal account even while your bank account is being confirmed.
HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS & MESSAGE BOARDS
Step #1) You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply put your CURSOR at the beginning of this letter and drag your CURSOR to the bottom of this document, and select ‘copy’ from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into your computer’s temporary memory.
Step #2) Open a blank ‘Notepad’ file and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. From the ‘Edit’ menu select ‘Paste’. This will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can add your email to the list.
Step #3) Save your new Notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different sittings, you’ll always have this file to go back to.
Step #4) Use Netscape or Internet Explorer and try searching for various newsgroups, on-line forums, message boards, bulletin boards, chat sites, discussions, discussion groups, online communities, etc. EXAMPLE: go to any search engine like yahoo.com, google.com, altavista.com, excite.com – then search with subjects like ?millionaire message board? Or ?money making message board? Or ?opportunity message board? Or ?money making discussions? or ?business bulletin board? or ?money making forum? etc. You will find thousands & thousands of message boards. Click them one by one then you will find the option to post a new message.
Step #5) Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting ‘Paste’ from the ‘Edit’ menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll thru the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button. You’re done with your first one! Congratulations! THAT’S IT!! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away. After you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup!
REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS AND/OR MESSAGE BOARDS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200**
That’s it! You will begin receiving money within days!
**JUST MAKE SURE THE EMAIL YOU SUPPLY IS EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS ON PAYPAL.**
$$$$$ NOW THE WHY PART: Out of 200 postings, say I receive only 5 replies (a very low example). So then I Made $5.00 with my email at #6 on the letter. Now, each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my email at #5 and only 5 persons respond to each of the original 5, that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make 200 MINIMUM posts with my email at #4 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in an additional $125.00! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my email at #3 and only receive 5 replies each, I will make an additional $625.00! OK, now here is the fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my email at #2 and they only receive 5 replies that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my email at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625.00! With an original investment of only $6.00! AMAZING!!
When your email is no longer on the list, you just take latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to emails on the list, putting your email at number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is, thousands of people all over the world are joining the internet and reading these articles everyday, JUST LIKE YOU are now!!
So can you afford $6?? And see if it really works?? I think so? People have said, “what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the money?” So what are the chances of that happening when there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, every day, with thousands of those joining the actual Internet.
Remember, play FAIRLY and HONESTLY and this will work. This really isn’t another one of those crazy scams! As long as people follow through with sending out $6.00, it works!
There’s no use trying to cheat for only $6.00 ***
Please use only opt-in resources for this material it will work for you and it works much faster without soliciting or spamming and higher responses*** !!!
With warm wishes, bless you and your loved ones,

Apparently people in Texas are shotgun-carrying, beer-drinking, bible-thumping rednecks. Then again, we DO have a plethora of bible-thumpers. :P
