Madpimp is back:

Pimper than a pimp in a pimped up shop all pimped out

So a few months ago I had to cancel my hosting plan for Madpimp.com
because I was a bit low on the cash. I moved the DNS over to a
new server and [blah blah blah] some technical gibberish later, Mapimp
was up and running but there was nothing there.

I’ve been meaning to re-make the site for a while, but I haven’t had
the motivation to do it… Until this weekend when I unexpectedly drew
this doodle:

Which ended up leading to this picture:

Which in turn lead to this layout:

Thus signifying the start of the return of my domain name, which I’ve had since
1999. It’s kind of scary to me that I’ve had a domain name for
longer than I’ve had any relationships. :)

[CLICK]
to see the new layout in action

Drawing

One thing I’ve always wanted to do is take an art class. You
know, the kind in which you get to draw naked people and stuff.
Only, I’ve always been in a state where I either don’t have the time or
the motivation to actually take a class. I think it’d be really
neatoid to take my skills from amateur-ignorant to amateur-learned
status.

Other things I’ve always wanted to take classes in (or learn more about) are:

Photography
Japanese
Painting
Yoga
Martial Arts

Anyone wanna try something out with me? :)

What are skills that you’ve always wanted to know more about that you’ve never gotten around to learning?

That’s really an awesome layout… what program did you use?
Something I’ve always wanted to learn more about is Flash and xml and css, because it seems like everyone and their typing cat has started to utilize it.

Hey, lookit madpimp.com going through another resurrection. Kewl. :] I wanted to continue exploring music technology and writing music. The last song I’ve written was in 1999, and I have such an urge to write again, but no time yet. Hopefully when I finish my Bachelor’s degree, and settle into a stable job.

i took guitar lessons for about 2 months, then realized that i’m a total klutz with stringed instruments.  i wish i could pick it up again, but i don’t have the motivation to. i’ve always wanted to learn 5 languages, but now since i’m in college that doesn’t really seem like a chance, which is ironic because college is WHEN you learn new stuff, huh?

niiiiiiice.  i like the first concept of the society string puppet, but the way you integrated both sketches into the final design is very sweet.
yeah you should take some figure drawing classes.  i used to go all the time so i can recommend some schools for you.  they’re kind of far from irvine though.
as far as things i never got around to learn: what about proper social skills?  there’re actually expensive “schools” that teach this kind of stuff: networking, corporate climbing, social etiquette, etc… i thought it was a bunch of bs but now i think it might’ve helped.

Photography is something I’m going to delve into next year, because my schedule will be free enough. I want to better my guiat skills. I started palying, but 80 bucks for a total of 2 hours of lessons a month was not feasable after a job loss, so we stopped. Martial arts, you should definitely do that. It’s worth it in the end.And I’ve asked this before, but what happened to Lan?

painting, i want to take, but i fear that the supplies for that hobby would get real expensive..real quick
martial arts…i’ve done enough already.
but japanese i definitely want to take at some point.  i love that language.  but my parents would kill me if they knew i learned japanese before i worked on my vietnamese.  but oh well.
